These notes will explain how to use our suite of toddler water safety resources. These resources include a song and activities aimed at EYFS children to teach them about water safety. Hyperlinks to the resources themselves are included in these notes.

A suite of PSHE linked learning resources - suitable for KS2. Through a series of games, activities, role play, poetry and assembly ideas, pupils will learn to spot the hazards of being near water, how to react in an emergency and our SAFE message (Stay Away From the Edge).

Learning to be safe near water is an important part of a child’s education. Use these activities and resources to encourage children to do, watch, play, create and read as they learn about water safety. Choose a few activities or do them all, there’s even a handy activity plan to guide your learning.

We’ve put together activities for you to do at home as a family to support the five ways to wellbeing: Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning and Give.
